Spanish Version need to change to English

Having bought my PC in Spain (where I live) it came with the Spanish version - I've changed the user side to English but the background (?) language is still Spanish - does anyone know how to change it? Could be difficult in the event of a crash or similar as my knowledge of Spanish is fairly limited.
