windows 8 problems with wireless on dell laptop

hi guys I have recently installed windows 8 on my dell studio xps 1640 laptop and the wireless has seemed to be not working it says no wireless available, I have to use the modem, I had a simalure problem with the graphics and sound card but I managed to sort that out, I have been to the dell website and downloaded windows 7 64bit drives as there is non for windows 8 64bit. please can you help me out as it is starting to get expensive by just using a modem. the model is Dell StudioXPS 1640 windows 8 64bit, the wireless card is Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card. please will you get back to me as soon as you can thanks. This seems to be a common problem for this card but one suggestion is shown at the bottom of this thread.
