Just got a new laptop with windows 8 NOT IMPRESSED apart from the fact that I cant find anything (who's bright idea was it to get rid of the start button) it will not update. It downloads 25 updates from microsoft and starts to install then restarts and commences configuring them, it gets to 15% and the fails, it dose this 4 times then reverts to previous settings. I have tried the microsoft auto fix but it hasn't worked. Can anyone help?

Try installing them manually maybe 2 or 3 at a time you will eventually find the one that is causing the problems.

Managed to sort it after going to microsoft forum, but not the bit suggested by microsoft help. Installed one update sepperaly and bang everything is A OK.
Why is this allowed by microsoft? Haven't they learned there lesson about releasing things before they are ready?
