I've finished my trial version of Microsoft Office and have now downloaded OpenOffice and want to save the spreadsheet as an Excel file. When I do this I get a message saying it is unlicensed and it won't then let me edit file. I need to share the file with someone using Excel - any ideas??

thanks

I think you might be better uninstalling OpenOffice first and then reboot. Download LibreOffice From Here This is a more developed version of OpenOffice.

Choose the customised install and change nothing apart from the one dialog box which asks to associate all files with Office XMLX formats - tick Word/Excel/Powerpoint boxes etc.

Now open LibreOffice and from there the file you want. Post back with any error messages.
