Does anyone have an easy solution for this?

Did you let it run for a while as there was some net framework updates that take time to download.

Also a few of the updates were stopped by security programs that were seeing the updates as Virus's.

Maybe turn off all of your security programs and try running the updates again.

Was it just the one update that you had problems with or was it all.

XP.Vista.W/7 and the number of the update if only one.
