Itunes on Windows 8

I am having problems in downloading Itunes on Windows 8 on a recently purchased sony Vaio, has anyone experienced the same and how can I do it. Any advice would be welcome.

Can you be a little more explicit - does the download start to run and then stop, or doesn't it happen at all?

Which browser are you using?

It is remaining on 0%, doing nothing, then if I come away from it and go back it looks as if it is loading, but nothing happens, shows itunes set up but nothing else happens . Not my laptop and cannot remember the browser used (sorry). But any kind of advice would be great.
