dvd/rw in win8

Hi I have two H/d on my computer one running win7 and one now running win8 my problem is that the dvd/r isn't seen on 8 but it is seen and works on win7 'Has anyone any ideas what the problem might be? any help would be appreciated

               Thanks for your reply .I have cured the problem but I don't know what I did but lo and behold it appeared and it works
