riping cd's to windows 8

Upgraded from Vista and saved all my music and then copied them to music file in Windows 8. It tells me that it can't play because the item's usage rights are corrupt or no longer valid. So this means that I will have to rip my entire music on CD's onto Windows 8. However in Vista I could put my CD in and it would automatically rip but in Windows 8 it does nothing. Please can someone advise me on how I can get my collection of songs onto my pc using Windows 8. I also tried using Windows Media Centre but that did not work.

It can be done using windows media player. If you don't have a shortcut on the launch bar then type 'media' on the start page window and choose windows media player from the list that appears.
With media player open, put the CD in and you should get options along the top for ripping a CD plus rip settings in a drop down menu - for mp3 wav etc
