I purchased a Sony Vaio with Windows 8 installed. I don't no if it was the computer or windows 8 but it kept crashing it was running so slow and it would take ages to open programs. I have sent this item back and I'm wondering whether to go ahead and buy another with 8 installed or buy one with windows 7. Has anyone else had this much trouble with 8? Plus can anyone recommend a laptop in the budget range.

It helps me get about a lot better others like it the way it is so the choice is yours.
If your computer has problems on W/8 and it will not start properly you are probably in trouble as Safe mode from boot up does not work on a lot of computers.

Your new Laptop had problems if it kept crashing, most probably would have done the same if Win 7. Personally I think Win 8 is faster than 7 but you will have to take a couple of hours to get used to it.
Try searching for other makes of laptops, such as Toshiba, HP etc.
