Thanks for that info. Another one I find very useful is ALT+F4 which gives you the choice of shut down, switch user, sign out ,sleep and restart.

I find I'm using the right click more on Win 8 and just using the corners. Quicker than the keyboard short-cuts for me. Quick access is bottom left corner- right click. Shut down choices is right corner-down-settings-power.
