My computer is frozen on my personal screen saver with only the time and date and network symbol on the bottom corner of the screen. My mouse and keyboard won't work. When I turn off my computer using the button on the tower (which would normally on windows 7 take you to the safe mode screen) it just restarts to the same frozen screen saver and I can do nothing. I tried starting the machine with the windows 8 driver disc in the drive but again nothing just the screen saver. I have no access to any programs, tiles anything, please help. I am using a Lenovo H520s 8gb ram 64 bit with windows 8 built in.

I would imagine you may have to go into the Bios and change the first boot to DVD.

Thanks guys for both your responses. I tried your advice dr yes but it did not work for me. Anything else you think I could try would be appreciated.

I believe it is Shift+F8 on W/8 now. It does not work for me but it works for most others.
