Windows 8 sometimes does not start up

Sometimes Windows 8 boots then hangs and I have to manually close down and then restart and it is ok, anybody else had the same problem?

Yes I did, I just removed the need to insert a password and that seemed to sort it. Why Microsoft felt the need for us to have to input a password by default is beyond me.
This shows you how to disable the password logon.
