Yes in window 8 lots of things which are more moderate. As compare to XP and Window 8 is their any PC configuration changes in Win 8.

Again as advised read the reviews.In posts on this section of the site

The requirement differ greatley between XP and Windows 8 Far to many to list.

The easy check will be to run the update advisor available from the Microsoft website for win 7. If your system can run Win 7 it should in thery run Win 8

From Win XP it seems that it will not be upgradable from Win XP so you made need a clean install. With all that relating to the programs you use on XP will have to be loaded from the original discs which will require there keys
