Fails to Install

Resolved

Tried to install twice, but install gets to 25% (both times) then computer shuts down.

Restart is simply a normal boot into Win 7 with no sign of any Windows 8 interface at all.

Any suggestions?

Provided your BIOS supports booting from USB then this is in fact the best option, its also quicker than DVD. Use the Microsoft USB-DVD tool to extract the iso file and create a bootable USB, you should then be good to go as it also checks the integrity of the download. Make sure your USB is at least 4gb.

Its best to do a clean install to a spare partition rather than an upgrade tho for testing.

Ive already decided Win 8 is not for me and removed it.

Thanks. That's what I did, but as I said, failed the final reboot.

I'll try the DVD route next.

I'm looking at Win 8 because dexterity problems make a touch screen bot yet a necessity, but certainly very desirable.

Final update = up and running (from DVD).

Thanks all
