Hi getting message bottom right saying not genuine windows 7

build 7600

Right click my computer and then click on Properties. It should tell you on there if it is activated or not.

Any reason that you are getting that message.have you recently reformatted the computer.

Or maybe bought it of a dodgy dealer.

build 7600, is pre SP1.

mine is,

Windows 7 Home Premium

Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)..

Hi thanks Jock1e & Lazarus the 2nd.

Had the comp. from new straight from Dell only had an update from avg.

Message has just appeared recently

Do I have to do the update to remove from screen.(only appears on homepage.)

Was the message from Microsoft and not from a malware site.

When you checked in My Computer ,properties. did it say it was activated or not.

If you don't have SP1 installed already it can be a bit of a nightmare .Took me about 2 months to finally get it installed, others have no problem installing it.
