How does Flash plugin render Youtube video?

Might be a silly question, but how does Adobe Flash Player plugin show vids on youtube? Does it download the video somewhere on our computer directory? If I watch a video and then downloading it, does it mean that I download the video twice? Any answer appreciated.

Basically, anything you view, look at, in your browser is downloaded from the internet. Mostly stored as Temporary files, Cache etc. How much remains stored depends on your settings, it gets overwritten as time goes by.
