Windows Live Mail won't go away!

Using Windows Live Mail. After reading my current email downloads (13), and after exiting WLM, I was surprised to see a dialogue box with "WINDOWS LIVE MAIL" "....is checking for new messages on ntlworld.com...". And it shows the number (13) that I have just read! Clicking on X to close it and the dialogue box goes away, but just this second I have the same dialogue box "The processing of requested tasks was interrupted. Please review the list for more details..." Again, I have deleted the dialogue box, but why does this happen?

There is an 8 page response to this question Click Here and the best answer seems to come from Firedog about half way down on page 4. This is amplified on the last page 8 with the final two replies. Perhaps this will help you.
