win 7 dell disc anygood

Going to get a lot of flack probably, I'm seeing a lot of Dell win7 discs out there, are they OK or what? I've been ripped off before so I'd like an opinion as to whether these discs only work in Dell machines or can be used in anything as per some ads, sorry if this is an annoying question but I do find this confusing, thanks.

AFAIK the motherboard needs a slic2.1 table in the bios

if you don't know what that means, google it.

This is just one site Chronos, they are not all on Ebay I've found them on Amazon and elsewhere.
