Failure of User profile service

Just had error report " user profile service service failed the login User profile cannot be loaded" on a longstanding Standard User Account. Password entered was OK and no other Accounts giving any probs. Any ideas why this has happened and how I can get back access to the account ?

You may find this microsoft article useful - there are several different things to try.

Before you do this try turning off the pc and re-booting it. Sometimes if your anti-virus starts up a background scan it can cause this problem.
