Lost all sound on BBC iPlayer and Windows Media Player

I use Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio) headphones connected to PC by USB. Usually get splendid results, but today absolutely mute. Any ideas, please, what has happened?

Right click the speaker icon in the notification area and select playback devices. In the pane that opens you should see something like USB Headphones Set showing. Click on it and set to default if it isn't.

Tried everything without any luck, then went to CNet and downloaded new drivers - success! Thanks to all who helped
