Under Win 7 my Win Live mail is very very slow. If I disable Outgoing mail scanner in Norton Int Security WLM runs OK. Is there a known problem here, can the Norton email scan be safely disabled or replaced with something else?

I have tried many things and I am aware of the usual stuff like CC etc. I dont want to leave WLM which I am happy with otherwise.

Win 7 64 bit IE9

Unless your PC has malware contamination you have no need to scan outgoing mail - you must scan incoming as you have no idea what is being sent to you.

Norton, although good, is well known for being a bit of a hog when it comes to resources.
