My daughter has Office Starter on her laptop. I have purchased Office Pro. Should I unistall Office Starter before I install Office Pro or is it ok to install it over the top of Starter?

Removing the original first is the best way. Without removing the original installation you may get problems later on.
I'd recommend uninstalling Starter first. Then you just install your paid version as though you've never had office before; less chance of it freaking out at a previous install.

My experience with trying to uninstall Office is it is not a particularly clean uninstall but as northumbria61 says it is probably best to uninstall but I will add restart your PC before installing Pro.
northumbria61 Do you have an alter ego called midnightdraven?
