Startup Problem Acer Laptop

Acer laptop wont boot...not even in safe mode..startup repair has been running for 5 hours now ....i have all my files backed up on an external hard drive..should i just switch off and then use recovery discs ???

Hey buddy, have you tried Last good known configuration instead of safe mode? if all fails then it might be time to use the recovery diks. You have all your files backed up so it'll be only a matter of reinstalling software.
