Black Screen with cursor? Please help! (Emachines Laptop) When I switch my laptop on it comes up with a black screen with just the cursor in the top left, this happens before I get to any login screens etc, It's like its wanting to boot a CD but there;s no CD/DVD in the rom! Even when I have put one in, it still hasn't worked :( I've looked on lots of forums but none have helped. The only thing that works is F2 that takes me to InsydeH20 Setup Utility & F12 Boot menu But they dont help!
I've tried the usual F8 for safe mode but no such luck, nothing happens, still the same black screen with cursor!
Any help on how to fix this would be massively appreciated!

First try discharging all the voilitile memory and static, Unlplug from mains, take out the battery. Now press and hold in the Power On button for at least 30 seconds. Now reassemble switch on and see it if it boots up into W7.
If that doesn't work then try:
Power on or reboot your computer. Press F11 when you see the prompt text on the bottom of of the screen when it gets to the POST screen. (Or simply reboot the machine and keep pressing F11 repeatedly until the Windows 7 system restore process starts and shows you the menu to choose from)
Choose the Non-Destructive System Restore – This recovers the operating system, all programs, and drivers that were installed by default. Any files currently on the computer should not be damaged by this process. (Meaning that you get to keep all of your documents, pictures, videos, etc when using this option.

Run your system in safe mode then reinstall your window drivers again. It can be a cause of virus so scan your computer with Malware Protection which remove dangerous virus from your computer.
