Hi all,

My son's just got himsself a new PC and is having problems getting the powerline ethernet adapter to work with Windows 7 (worked fine with Vista as of this morning).

Any ideas of what drivers might be useful (the adapter is a generic one) in getting this to work, and where they might be found?

All assistance greatfully received.

Connecting by ethernet to a Powerline adapter shouldn't require specific drivers anymore than connecting directly to a router would.

Connect to the Powerline adapter and then run ipconfig /all in a Command Prompt window:

Go to “Start > Run”, type…

cmd.exe /k ipconfig /all

...and click OK (note the 3 spaces in the command line). This will show details of all network adapters installed in the PC. Right click in the Command Prompt window, "Select All" and press Enter to copy the details to the clipboard. Paste the details into a forum reply here.

If you are unable to paste the details directly from the computer, because it cannot get online, paste them instead into a blank "Notepad" file, transfer the file to a working PC and copy/paste the details from there. This might give an indication of the problem.
