Troubles with Video Project from XP to W7

We have started to try and create a Windows video project which was originally saved on XP.using W.Live Movie Maker.
This was copied and subsequently downloaded onto a laptop with Windows 7.,
The video is saved as my project.mswmm.
Trying to open it on Windows 7 is proving unsuccessful.
Is there a "fix" or as I rather suspect MS removing yet another "fixture".
This is the first time we have attempted to do this kind of thing.

Thank you. We had discovered that just before your message came through but thanks again.
Our problem is that we cannot download direct to the Windows 7 laptop as the camcorder cannot connect to it something to do with firewires etc all beyond me hence why it was originally put onto the xp system.
We are now considering whether to purchase Photoshop Elements and its bundle seems to me less of a problem!
