my ie 8 has stopped working on my windows 7 os. when i try to download it again the setup refuses to start saying it is not compatible with my system. it was working before and i am puzzled what to do.
btw it windows 7 x64

try tools-internet options-advanced-reset

Try all programs- accessories- system tools and run IE8 (without add-ons). See if you can reset from there. It might be an add-on that's causing the problem.

it turned out to be avg 9 which had been installed right! a re-installation of it and IE8 is working perfectly. is this why we all love computers?
