Associating files in "dual-boot"

I made a new partition on my C: drive and installed W7 to that. So now at startup, I get to choose whether to run Vista or W7.

However, the new partition has named itself C: when in W7, so my original (Vista) C: drive is now D: and all my other drives are similarly re-named. Which means that when I try to run installed programs from W7, the file associations fail and the program won't start.

I assume that I need to re-install the programs in W7, but a: I have a_lot_ :( and b: will this upset the installation in Vista, or are the two o/ss entirely seperate from each other?

TIA for any help you may be able to give me...

Those programs are only "installed" in your Vista environment. You need to install the programs in W7 for them to work, it won't affect your Vista programs. The two are entirely seperate. Starting with Vista, the system drive letter is always "C" regardless of the actual partition the OS is running from.
