Query On The Price Of Windows 7

Tried to order Windows 7 via the email that was sent by Microsoft.
Several of the links on the email do not work!
The link to Play.com does work but the price is 79.99?
Why when Microsoft quote 49.99 is Amazon more expensive?
Any ideas?
Thanks

It is clear that the number of units Microsoft was prepared to sell at the pre order price have been bought and the price has now moved to that set until the end of the year
Although there was an end date to the offer it was also clear they would only sell a limited number at £49
Most European countries web sites have also sold out

'Why when Microsoft quote 49.99 is Amazon more expensive?'
Because they have sold out of the allocation that they were given by Microsoft.
The company I bought mine from only had an allocation of 150 units of Home Premium.
