Has anyone else tried these two pieces of software together?

The desktop composition makes the mouse cursor, when using tools such as eraser and brushes, very laggy as it seems to be rendering the pointer too slow.

Using remove desktop composition in the compatability tab stops this issue but also turns off aero which I don't want.

Anyone with any ideas etc?
