No Audio Output Device is installed

Have been using the Windows 7 RC for a week now and must say rather like it. A few problems which have overcome. But I get the message as I first had with Vista ""No Audio Output Device is installed"". Got over the problem easy in Vista but cannot find the Solution in ""Windows 7"" Have looked in Device Manager and it is NOT shown there. I know for certain there is one.

Any suggestions please ?

What onboard sound chip or card are you using ? You probably need to install the correct drivers.

Had the same message.

As Ashrich suggests, driver update cured it.

I have read your Audio Output device missing advice with great interest. I have also the same problem ; my Vista driver is a C-Media 5.12.1.46, can I find this (down loadable) from the C-Media site ? No !
Any hints would be gratefully received.
