i read that the beta version will 'expire' in august 09.
does that mean we can then buy it, which means it's coming out then!
or will we have to suffer a black screen until the official version is released?
or maybe something else...any ideas anyone?
p.s. i'm impressed with W7 [coming up from XP]

Checked out , Run, msconfig, tools tab, About Windows. mine has version6.1. 7022 and it just says windows is activated. it has a product ID below that.
right click my computer ...properties shows the same, and there is no (trial version) watermark on the desktop.

I just downloaded the Release Candidate and installed it, the download page click here for it lists June 1st 2010 as the expiry date, I'm not running it right now but I think it's build 7100, it displays the build version in the lower right hand side of the desktop.
I would guess the retail version shouldn't be that far from the shelves, especially as an RC version has been released.
