Those of you who took part in the recent beta test of Norton 2012 might like to give yourselves a big pat on the back. I've been passed the following feedback direct from Norton:-
“A big thanks from Norton from Symantec for all of your feedback and engagement with the testing. We have passed your comments to our product development team and may well come back to you with additional feedback on some of the specific problems you encountered. A couple of you questioned the beta testing methodology, as the forum editor states, we find this relatively unstructured process gives us fantastic feedback as you use the product in the “real world”, encountering real problems and giving us genuine, verbatim feedback which is what we need to continue to improve the products. As soon as we receive the final copies of the software, you’ll get them in the post. Thanks again, Norton UK team”.
We're in the process of passing contact information to the company, so they can send you your free copy of the final software version. I'll be emailing you about this shortly, and will be grateful for a rapid response.
A big thank you goes to all of you from all of us for your hard work and cooperation during the test process - Here's to the next time.....whatever and whenever that might be.

We'll see how it goes. This delay was plainly the result of a one-off administrative mix-up somewhere along the line. It's worked pretty well in the past.
Part of the problem was me,of course - I initially didn't realise that I hadn't passed on the list of testers to Symantec.
