to the Norton 360 beta forum. If you're one of our team of beta testers you should by now have the test software safely installed on your computer from the download link I sent you recently.
As soon as you have Norton 360 running on your machine please post in this thread to tell us how your download and installation went. We're keen to know about any difficulties before we proceed further.
Please don't start new threads of your own - it will confuse the process. Once everyone has reported on a successful (or otherwise) installation we'll move on in a new thread.

No problem uninstalling AVG 8 Free manually first and installing Norton 360. However I was disaapointed to see that a toolbar was installed in Firefox and IE7 without asking for my permission.
Installation went quickly with slight delays to register for a Norton Account.
However and obviously coincidentally I've experienced a catastrophic failure of the system I installed it on. None of my 4 hard disks are visible and a True Image restore is failing as no hard disks are being found. I do have another 'test' system which I'll try to bring up to speed to continue testing.
I did use the software a fair bit though so I do have other comments to add in later threads.
One major problem was that after 16 hours I was still having 'Attention' messages stating there was a problem with Norton and the fix button was not changing the status.
I was disappinted by the possibly cynical report that said McAfee Site Advisor was ' Not Trusted'

Download went OK, no problems. I normally use Kaspersky IS 2009 so I thought I would see how the intallation would cope with this at istalation time, it was detected correctly and asked me to uninstall it before proceeding, it even gave me a link to open the correct uninstall CPL, once done, 360 installed without problems and I proceeded to configure the app. I had to manually set up antispam and this works fine, I think some work to automate this would be desirable.

No problems at all, Had to uninstall Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Firewall before install.
Once Norton360 was on and running, Computer running better and much faster, Also no Lag on web pages, So far So Good, I Like it.

After looking at my notes there's one thing to add at this stage. I had to set up Identity Safe, maybe I missed something but I don't recall an explanation of what this was and I'm fairly certain I had to do it to continue.

Installed OK, but could not update. Uninstalled then reinstalled OK and updated.
However like Spartacus can not get rid of the "Fix Now" although my update shows 06/01/2009 at 1.48pm.
Otherwise quite easy for a "wrinkly" now of 74

Install was impressively fast, also smooth. Spotted McAfee IS 2008, asked me to remove it, then installed first time on restart.
The program also zoomed through update and is sitting there all active and pretty. No glitvhes so far. It's using few resources, and doesn't get in the way!
Good so far!

Ran Live Update with "Close computer on completion". No longer have the "Fix Now" report; do not know if the above action did the job or the update timed at 9.20pm included a patch.

I've just installed it and I too had to remove AVG. Not unexpected that but I am not happy about the toolbar as it just installed it, no prompt, no warning and no choice it just installed it regardless. I do not like that.
Early days we will see what happens.
