New PC but older gaming applications

I'm in the process of deciding which new desktop PC to purchase with good graphics. I purchase FSX and Traffic FSX when it was released a few years back now but at the time I had a laptop with Windows 7 and due to it's graphics and speed specs it wasn't able to support these programs, for Windows 8 on my new machine to be, are these applications compatible? Or if not, is their a fix or patch Microsoft has released to enable them to happily work together?

Thanks.
