Alt tabbing out of Skyrim on the pc.

Recently bought Skyrim from Steam and once in game it wont ALT+TAB to the desktop, I can do it with all my other games, but for the life of me I cant with Skyrim.

The reason I need to do it sometimes is because I sometimes need access to Vent.

Is this an issue with the game?
