I need a new graphics card

I have recently got a new pc, its all running great and i have no problem with programs or anything like that. The problem is that for some reason the PC came with a totaly Sub-par graphics card "NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE" all my games have great loading times thanks to my quad core processor but the gameplay is horrible.

Everytime i go into a store they just try and sell me the biggest most expensive one they have, I was wondering if anyone can suggest the best value for money card i can get?

A few more details about your PC would help, make/model or motherboard would be useful, ram, what size power supply you have.
