Looking for a versatile scanner/printer

I need a good quality scanner (A4 and A3) which can also print. Needs Wifi connectivity.
Brand unimportant. Quality and price of consumables of more interest.
Any suggestions/recommendations?

A combination unit is twice as likely to fail - and when it does, you lose both functions. Is there a reason for not wanting separate units?

" *A combination unit is twice as likely to fail.."*, which I find is a bit of a myth, because I use a variety of 3/4 in ones, and have never had a "twice as likely" event happen yet.
As to preference, then that will be governed on your budget. and how much you are willing to spend, plus on your general requirements of daily or monthly usage, taking cartridge costs and availability into consideration.
There is no quick fix solution, because of peoples own expectations and requirements. What I would suggest is that you perhaps do a quick Google research on a few printer/scanner reviews, then come back here on what you have considered within your range?.
Personally, I have good combined general results from Brother all-in-ones.
