Printing problems with Canon iP4850

My canon printer has suddenly stopped working properly. Operating system is Win7 (32) connected to PC 2.8Ghz. Trying to print a document containing a picture and text it will print the picture but not the text. Have uninstalled software and reinstalled with no success. Would appreciate some help, please.
