My boss approached me and said he'd had a new tax code through for me, but if he applied it, it would have effectivly cost me a weeks wages? he says the new code costs me more tax, yet my earnings havent changed in the tax year, where do i stand? i know nothing about these cand of things.
Thanks in advance.

HMRC have had massive problems with sending out incorrect tax codings in the last few months.
if nothing has changed in your personal circumstances then you need to get your payroll department to question it

short answer? he is unless he pays for payroll to be done.
you take the hit.
I assume that nothing has changed that has caused it to be altered? what is it now, and what was it?.
