So, its that time of the year and all Paye year end returns have to be done online now.

However its not that easy!. I only have a small payroll to do , and use the HMRC cd-rom to do it on. finalised the wages as i have paid everyone to year end, did the P11, P35 etc and pressed submit. hrs later after untold error messages and the cd deciding at one stage that it would work on the 2008/2009 figures i called them.

Turns out they know about it and there is a patch to sort it out, go to hmrc.gov.uk - search CD Rom - March update.

Wish they had bothered to tell anyone!!. So if you have problems, you know where to look.
