Getting trial software on a coverdisk

An acquaintance of mine has written a software application and would like to get a demo of it on a PC Advisor (or other magazine) cover dvd. Does anyone know the business model for this – for example, does he pay the magazine?
Thank you if you're in the know.

I would suggest that your friend sends it to the Editor with a covering letter of explanation.
Although it is very unlikely that the magazine would pay him, usually the software providers give content to the magazines as a trial/taster of their product and as an effective way to reach large numbers of users interested in software.
Hope this helps.

unless we've tested it first, and unless we think it will be appropriate for our target market.
