My mother travels to France and Spain alot with her iphone 4s, she can receive emails but is unable to send them. she has foreign bundles added to her account.
iphone email settings are:
host name: imap4.blueyonder.co.uk outgoing server: smtp:blueyoner.co.uk
primary server:
smtp.blueyonder.co.uk
other SMTP servers:
pop3.blueyonder.co.uk ON smtp.blueyonder.co.uk ON smtp.o2.co.uk OFF
Are these settings correct?
Many Thanks

smtp setting is fine for at home but will not work overseas. She can receive but not send. When overseas she would be better off using webmail to read and receive emails using wifi. If she does not use wifi then she could find that has high data charges. If she wants to use the email app to send then she will have to change the smtp setting to that for the wifi which can be a pain.
The other alternative is to set up a gmail account and use it to send and receive whilst overseas forwarding mail from virgin.

Thanks.
How is it that her IPad works fine overseas and the settings are exactly the same

I assume that she is using the iPad on wifi only. If she were to use the iPhone on wifi only for sending it may work. Over 3G it may well need to use the smtp of the mobile operator that she has roamed to.
