mp4 video to wav or aiff files

daughter in law in USA has sent me a video clip of granddaughter singing at school concert, there is a lot of bass in the clip which looks like a mobile phone clip, it is mp4 format, I want to remove the bass and wondered what the best program is, I first thought of audacity which I have but being a video file audacity wont open it, can I have some suggestions please, all help and advice apreciated

Hy guys,not been hear for quite a while ans now found my self in hospital, I am trying to share some films wisth a guy in the next bed running XP but all we can see is the visualisations ans audio. Tryied installing vlc but he has no internet conection ti complete the installatinn
