goto settings and check for updates, used wifi to download as it was 97.83mb

it was a firmware update not ICS update. had a playaround cannot see any changes.

For Samsung Galaxy 3 phone systems the Froyo 2.2 is the software that can install by manual procedure it is known as firmware.
