Sony S tablet Conectivity

Can I connect a Sony DSLR directly to the tablet to transfer photos from my camera to it, If I got the micro USB adapter. Or alternatively can I transfer them directly from an external card reader to the tablet without having to transfer them from my computer to the tablet?
