finding unknown phone provider

I have bought a secondhand BMW with a factory fitted Nokia 3110 phone, the previous owner didn't use it and I don't know what network it's locked to as there is no SIM card. Apart from buying a SIM card from each network and trying them out, is there a way to find out from the phone?

it will almost certainly be on their database. Visit a BMW dealership and ask them.
