BLACKBERRY STORM or XPeria X1/No Blackberry experi

Hi,

I am overseas, and have been offerred on a new network a gift of a handset to work on a local Blackberry network.

I have a choice of a Blackberry Storm, or a SONY ERICSSON xPeria X1. Which would be a better handset to use for both phone calls, and emails on the Blackberry network? The email would be gMail or Yahoo; we have no corporate server, etc.

I have never used a Blackberry before, am new to the Blackberry service and all it's features. But I am going to give whichever handset I choose to my wife.

Would be really grateful for advice and help on this matter, as my Blackberry experience is zero ...
