Cannot connect my Samsung to PC

My J700 Samsung came with a disk with Samsung PC Studio 3 on it which I duly installed and got all the updates. However when I connect up the phone via the USB port I get an error message

Cannot Install this hardware
There was a problem installing the hardware
SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem
An error occured during the installation of this device
The data is invalid

This has left me unable to put anything from the PC onto the phone. Does anybody know how to resolve this?

I use Windows XP

I tried this and gave full permission for every "VEN" link there, which was about 15, and still I get the same message
