I've had this phone a good few weeks now and still cant get used to its weird ways!

No matter how much I try I cant seem to assign an image to a contact ID - Ive tried saving a new contact on the phone memory and theres no option to add a picture or ringtone there, if I go the images folder and "set as caller image" I get the "empty entry" error!!! FRUSTRATING! - I'm going back to Sony Ericsson next time!!

The contact must be stored in the phone memory as you say. What you have to do is assign the picture to the contact, not the contact to the picture. Open your picture and select Options, then choose Set As and select Caller Image. It then goes to your phone book and you select who you want the image to go against. If the picture is stored on the memory card it is copied to the phone. If this doesn't work then the phone may be faulty. Good luck
